Every Carpetido.de Patchwork Carpet is hand-knotted and a unique piece. Only Turkish and Persian originals are used for our production process which was developed by Carpetido.de. The fine fabrics are carefully cut into patches and stitched back together turning them into eye-catching Masterpieces.
Our Patchwork Carpets are produced based on two kinds of oriental carpets: Hand-knotted and overdyed/ de- colorized classic oriental carpets as well as handwoven, fine Kelim rugs. Due to a growing customer demand for classic Kelim combinations Carpetido.de has added additional fine classic pieces to its patchwork selection.
During production all Patchwork Carpets undergo several washings. The Kelim rugs are then cut and creatively recombined. In addition the classic Vintage Patchwork carpets are partially decolorized during the washings before they are individually overdyed. The finishing touches include a final washing and the drying under the warm Persian sun. Even in the final stages of production creativity knows no boundaries as some carpets are only then separated into pieces and recombined and reinvented into the most beautiful and extraordinary designs.
Both Vintage- and Kelim-Patchwork - every part of the manufacturing process is carefully and attentively carried out by us.
